NEW YEARS EVE 2024
2025 is looking to be a cracker year (excuse the pun ) for the SYCC. In the days leading up to New Year’s Eve there was a lot of communication via WhatsApp. There were a lot of SYCC boats out and about. This has the effect of enabling crews to meet up on the water, or in my case being away before NYE I became green with envy. The year’s end and the following day in Towlers Bay showed a smaller number than usual for this time of the year, however the most prominent club flag in the Bay was that of the SYCC. Nine vessels attending very encouraging sign and hopefully a trend that will continue. There was a good rollup for happy hour on Scallywag. Rendezvous and Masquerade decided to go to my mooring in Bayview to gain a closer look at the fireworks. The Bayview fireworks are certainly worth watching. After the fireworks, we returned to Towlers Bay to get some well-earned sleep. New Year’s Day turned out to be perfect for a swim and relaxing onboard. The forecast for the evening was not good, predicting a southerly change with possible storms. The majority of the SYCC boats left for shelter as Masquerade did as I had to drop Judy off the following day, so we spent the night moored off the PAC where our vehicles were parked.
All in all a great couple of days, good interaction with all the crews attending the event and looking forward to our upcoming events and similar participation.
Vessels attending:
