SOUTHERN NSW CRUISE

Destination Jervis Bay

DETAILS

Time to head offshore, and turn right at Barrenjoey for overnight stops at Port Hacking, Shell Harbour and Jervis Bay.

The intention is to depart Pittwater on March 20, subject to weather conditions. The trip is estimated to be around 10 days.

  • Total distance 98nm split into 3 sections of approx 35nm each

  • Ports for stopovers are Point Hacking, Shell Harbour new marina, then on to Jervis Bay

  • All skippers are to source their own navigation material

  • Download NSW tide chart 2122 for March

  • Check flares and safety equipment

  • Download Rob’s Passage Planner for contact details of Marine Rescue and VHF repeaters

  • All Comms traffic to be on VHF

  • Fuel is not easy to get. Carry spare 20/40 litres and good food stock

  • It is up to skippers to log on to Marine Rescue and ask for tracking until destination

  • The new marina at Bass Point Shellharbour charges $65 per night and you have to book a berth when you start your cruise

  • There are no bars to cross on this cruise and local conditions should be investigated

  • Carry a hose for water - the only place will be a public jetty in Huskisson
